چکیده
Linear-width is a widely recognized and highly valued graph width parameter. The concepts of linear tangle obstacle are dual linear-width. In this concise paper, we present an alternative proof the equivalence between obstacle.

15 صفحه اولAn alternative proof of a result of Takaoka
In Karatzas and Kardaras’s paper [11] it is proved that the NUPBR condition is a property of the local characteristic of the asset process. In Takaoka’s paper [15] it is proved that the NUPBR condition is equivalent to the existence of a local martingale deflator. However, the paper [15] founds its proof on Delbaen and Schachermayer’s fundamental asset pricing theorem, i.e. the NFLVR condition,...
متن کاملAn Alternative Proof of an Ω(k) Lower Bound for Testing k-linear Boolean Functions
We provide an alternative proof for a known result stating that Ω(k) queries are needed to test k-sparse linear Boolean functions. Similar to the approach of Blais and Kane (2012), we reduce the proof to the analysis of Hamming weights of vectors in a ne subspaces of the Boolean hypercube. However, we derive our proof from a general result by Linial and Samorodnitsky (2002) that upper bounds th...
متن کاملEquivalence of concentration inequalities for linear and non-linear functions
We consider a random variable X that takes values in a (possibly infinite-dimensional) topological vector space X . We show that, with respect to an appropriate “normal distance” on X , concentration inequalities for linear and non-linear functions ofX are equivalent. This normal distance corresponds naturally to the concentration rate in classical concentration results such as Gaussian concent...
متن کاملSome linear herbrand proof procedures : an analysis
Several Herbrand proof procedures proposed during the 1960 decade are shown to be related in varying degrees. Most of the paper deals with a relationship between s-linear resolution and model elimination. Refinements of each are proposed and the spaces of ground deductions are shown to be isomorphic in a suitable sense. The two refined procedures are then studied at the general level where they...
